Winston-Salem has seen the largest increase in median home prices among major North Carolina cities at nearly 43% between January 2020 and 2022. But the Twin City still trails behind Charlotte and Raleigh when it comes to home prices.
To find out how Winston-Salem stacks up against other NC cities, we looked at data from Zillow Home Value Index (ZHVI) for all homes in January 2022. ZVIH is a smoothed, seasonally adjusted measure of the typical home value and market changes across a given region and housing type. It reflects the typical value for homes in the 35th to 65th percentile range. Here are the findings:
1. Raleigh: $410,121
2. Charlotte: $344,238
3. Winston-Salem: $215,758
4. Greensboro: $208,649
