Old Salem Museums & Gardens is a historic site of Winston-Salem featuring museums that tell the stories of people, including Moravian, Black, and Indigenous peoples, in the American South. In 1966, the district was designated as a Local Historic Landmarks by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Highlights of the town include the Visitor Center, Galleries in the Frank L. Horton Museum Center (including the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts), Potter’s Workshop at T. Bagge, Moravian Book & Gift, Boys’ School, Miksch House & Gardens, Winkler Bakery, Seed Saving Lab, Muddy Creek Café, and Salem Stitches.
Old Salem Museums and Gardens is open year-round except for January each year.
Advance All-In-One Tickets for visiting Old Salem can be purchased here, as well as on-site at the Visitor Center, the Frank L. Horton Museum Center, and Moravian Book & Gift. Tickets give visitors access to all open buildings, including the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDAs) Self-Guided Galleries. Two-Stop Admission tickets are available on-site at the Visitor Center, the Frank L. Horton Museum Center, and Moravian Book & Gift.
