If you're looking for a fun day trip or weekend getaway near Winston-Salem, NC, Hanging Rock State Park is a real treat! This beautiful park is located in the Sauratown Mountains - known for its stunning natural rock formations and panoramic views.

When you arrive, the first thing you'll want to do is hike up to the top of Hanging Rock. It's a bit of a climb, but the views from the top are worth it. You'll be able to see for miles and miles in every direction. Just be sure to bring plenty of water and a camera to capture all the beauty.

After you've taken in the views from Hanging Rock, take a stroll through the park and check out some of the other natural attractions. There are several waterfalls and swimming holes you can visit, and if you're up for a longer hike, there are plenty of trails to explore.

Are you into fishing? Then head on over to one of the several streams and lakes throughout the park where you can try your luck at catching some fish. If a day trip won’t quite cut it and you want to spend the night, there is no shortage of campgrounds and cabins available for rent. It's the perfect way to extend your time in the great outdoors.
